Turning point: The Rockies took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning and never gave it away.

Big day: Jason Marquis pitched three perfect innings for the Rockies in a “B” game against the Diamondbacks, a performance that was followed by two scoreless innings each from Glendon Rusch and Josh Fogg, and a scoreless inning each from Ryan Speier and Samuel Deduno.

Bad day: Dexter Fowler went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts starting in centerfield.

FYI: First baseman Dan Ortmeier (3-for-4) had 3 of the Rockies 13 hits . . . Second baseman Chris Nelson finished 2-for-4 with a double . . . Catcher Sal Fasano went 2-for-2 and recorded 2 RBI on a 2-run single in the sixth inning.
