Isn’t he the dude who tried to iron a shirt while wearing it and burned himself?

Keep up the great work!
Jeff – It was John Smoltz that used himself as an ironing board.
Actually Ford burned himself while ironing a shirt, but he was not wearing the shirt, although that is the way the story was told. Jim Caple of espn.com has the details.

Tracy, thanks for the link.
Lew’s the man. So what if he burns himself and loves Star Wars. The Rockies are lucky to have him.
Being a twins fan in MN, there are alot of Lew Ford stories that would make you shake you head…..He had a perchant for staying up all night playing dungons and dragons online–especially on the road when his wife wasn’t there to babysit him…..and when right before a long roadtrip his laptop died, so he brought his pc on the road….yes, the keyboard, tower, and screen…..
He also shaved his “goatee” in the middle of a game once.
Bottom line is Lew Ford seems to enjoy the game or he wouldn’t still be play and he enjoys life. He has fun with his free time in a way that does not harm anyone.
his new game is “World of Warcraft”
