Soto expected back in Cubs lineup Wednesday
Cubs catcher Geovany Soto, the reigning National League Rookie of the Year, is expected to return to the lineup and could be used Monday when the Rockies visit Wrigley Field for the Cubs home opener.
Soto hasn’t played since he left Tuesday’s game at Houston with soreness in his shoulder, which was diagnosed as inflammation. He threw in the outfield and felt fine, and Cubs manager Lou Piniella spoke to reporters about Soto before Sunday night’s game at Milwaukee.
