Troy Tulowitzki set a career high by drawing four walks. He had never walked three times in a game before this season but walked three times April 8 at Arizona and three times April 12 against the Phillies. After the latter game, Tulowitzki went eight games without a walk before walking four times.

Chris Iannetta, who entered the game 3-for-31, doubled and singled on his first four at-bats. He struck out to end the game but extended closer Jonathan Broxton to eight pitches, the first seven fastballs followed by a slider.

–In his past three outings, reliever Jason Grilli has issued five walks, one intentional, and one hit to the seven batters he has faced.

Orlando Hudson’s single in the fifth extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

–The Rockies are 0-5 in games decided by one or two runs with three of those losses at Coors Field where their overall record is 1-3.

–The Rockies are 1-6 in their current stretch of 19 games against NL West foes.

Clint Barmes pinch-hit home run, the first of his career, off Hong-Chih Kuo was the Rockies’ second of the season. Ian Stewart hit the other on April 8 at Arizona against Billy Buckner.

Garrett Atkins’ run-scoring single in the third was his first RBI since April 17 at Los Angeles and broke an 0-for-9 string with runners in scoring position.
