    Tracy,

Why are the Rockies keeping Christian Friedrich at Ashville? He’s dominating the SAL. When do you expect to see him mive up to Modesto or Tulsa?

Stepping in for Tracy, Cisco Kid, I would expect Friedrich would stay at Asheville until about the South Atlantic League all-star break, which occurs in the third week in June. The Rockies typically don’t move players quickly, least of all after a few good weeks. They perfer the players have some sustained success at a level (which will stand them in good stead when they hit a skid there) and then move up. Friedrich made three starts at Asheville last year and is obviously dominating there this season. That said, I would expect him to stay there about another month. In addition to Daley, another candidate to move in mid-season is SS Hector Gomez. He’s doing extremely well at high Class A Modesto, where he was supposed to play last year, but got hurt and seems to be on course to get to Double-A Tulsa next month.
