Rockies (Aaron Cook, 1-1, 5.67) vs. Marlins (Chris Volstad, 2-1, 2.97).

Cook allowed one run in eight innings Tuesday at San Diego in a game the Rockies lost 2-1 in 10 innings. The Rockies are 1-5 in games started by Cook, who has gone 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in his past three starts. Cook is tied for second place all-time in franchise history with 53 victories and is 1-2 with a 6.10 ERA lifetime against the Marlins in four games, three starts.

Cook’s headache: Emilio Bonafacio is 4-for-6 with a triple and one RBI.

Cook’s:Jeremy Hermida is 1-for-6.

Volstad suffered his first loss of the season in his last start Sunday against the Reds, allowing four runs, three earned, in six innings as the Reds won 7-0. The Marlins are 4-2 in games started by Volstad, who won his first two starts of the season and made three starts without a decision before suffering a loss. Volstad is 1-1 with a 5.14 ERA in three games, two starts, against the Rockies. Opponents are batting .192 against Volstad _ .156 by left-handed hitters (10-for-64 with four homers) and .227 (15-for-66 with one homer) by right-handers.

Volstad’s headache: Ian Stewart is 1-for-2 with a double.

Volstad’s relief: Garrett Atkins is 0-for-4.
