–Houston scored season-high 15 runs with 24 hits, inlcuding six doubles. The 15 runs are most for an NL team this year, one more than the Dodgers scored against the Rockies on April 19.
–Glendon Rusch allowed 12 hits in 2 2/3 innings, the most he has allowed in a relief appearances. He has twice given up 13 hits in a start.
–LHP Mike Hampton made his first start at Coors Field since Aug. 26, 2004 when, with Atlanta, he beat the Rockies. Hampton is 10-3 lifetime against the Rockies.
–Ian Stewart homered off Hampton, the seventh of his 18 career home runs he has hit off a left-handed pitcher.
–Dexter Fowlers’ theft of second base in the third inning was his first since April 27, when he tied a modern-day rookie record with five stolen bases against San Diego. He leads major-league rookies with 10 stolen bases.

Do you think that the Monforts and Dan O’Dowd cringe when they see him? That contract was millions of dollars thrown away by the Rockies.
