Thanks Folks

When we started this website the hope was we could create an avenue to provide some insight for fans, and a solid discussion arena.
The desire was to allow people to have their say on matters about the Rockies concern them, but to do it in a civil manner. People did not have to be belittled or made fun of, names did not have to be mangled. And people who had opposing views did not need to be shouted down.
Thanks to the folks who have visited this website we have been able to, in my opinion, keep the tone of the comments in a solid manner. There are various opinions, and they are welcomed, but there is not an effort to belittle those who disagree.
We can all learn if we are exposed to various viewpoints, and we are all more willing to learn if the exposure comes in a respectful manner.
We will step in at times to correct a factual discrepency but if the concerns or questions are raised in a respectful manner they are fully welcomed.

I enjoy the site, and the fact that the comments section is growing is a sign that it’s really starting to catch on. Keep up the good work!
I also enjoy this website and particularly enjoy when Tracy or Jack respond…sometimes to set us straight. Kind of makes me think before I post.
As disappointing as the Rockies’ season has been, I remain a fan.
I wasn’t able to watch today’s game vs. Dodgers until the replay on FSN. Didn’t know the score because I was working.
Good drama late, but…
Did anyone notice the audio of the TV broadcast? Sounded like a high school game where you could hear anyone who wanted to shout.
When do the attendance economics play a role in making a decision about the future of management? Can’t say I would look forward to a field change because I like Hurdle and agree with those who say the team has overachieved since he’s been here.
I really enjoy the site. The only thing I would like to see added is a chat session. You could do something like announce on Monday when the chat session will be and what time(similar to MLBtraderumors.com). I will admit I still read the Post but this is always my first Rockies site to read!
Thanks guys!
I enjoy the threads and especially when people can point and counter point. Entertaining and gets your thoughts going. As you said Dave, it makes me make sure I have my facts straight too when responses from the author are contributed. Only thing I wish the site had was a quick spell check that would catch errors I make. Thanks guys!
A forum where fans can exchange thoughts and ideas in a respectful manner, as Tracy says, is a welcome addition to the sports world. I hope the fans continue to contribute and honor the opinions of others. There is always room for respectful disagreement and there is always the possibility that one can learn something!
I love this open forum. Heck, I have learned and laughed from the comments. Seldom do I read just the article. The comments often have additional insights. Plus, I just love talking baseball. While I miss my Rocky, I don’t miss my baseball in the Rocky anymore. Evolution to this site has been beneficial to me and others. Now, I will grab the Post and take that to the bathroom to read.
I second the spell check idea, which is obvious to most of the regulars on here.
In regards to the spell check, there are ways to make most web browsers check your spelling for you as you type. Helps me significantly.
Good to see you “commenting” on the comments. While the site hasn’t yet expanded to the level of dozens of comments per post (maybe it never will), it is definitely refreshing to see that most of the people here are friendly and open in their discussions. I’m not a huge sports fan (baseball is the only one I follow), but I recognize that many people get very passionate about them, and when you look at sites like ESPN’s or MLB.com’s official site, that passion often turns to anger against other fans. I hope we continue to avoid that here.
I love this site!! It is the first site I go to in the morning, and often the first site I check when I open a browser!!!
The most appealing aspect of this is how respectful the comments are. It’s amazing how nice it is to see the comments from committed Rockies fans – even though it’s a bit rough right now to be one of us.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work!!
Tracy, I definitely appreciate the site and am glad you, Jack and Steve are writing so often for it. It’s a great place to stop and follow the Rockies, and comments from readers are a big help as well. I also think it’s good for us and good for the Rockies for fans to have online communities. Sometimes I get the feeling that there are few Rockies fans until I come online and see everyone’s responses.
I just wanted to express my thanks to Tracy, Jack and Steve and the fans here. Like others have mentioned this site is a fantastic resource for Rockies fans. I read it everyday. I too was worried when the Rocky went down we’d lose some very insightful baseball voices. Glad that’s not the case.
Keep up the good work everyone!
(Regarding spell check, yeah, I use Firefox myself and it’s built right into the browser)
Great site, thanks guys; we Rockies’ fans need a hangout to commiserate and drown our sorrows. The posts here are of a quality not found on most open forums.
(Spell check is built into Google Chrome as well. I thought it was a feature of the site until I saw Steve N’s comment).
Good site, indeed.
I am frustrated with the Rox. They are playing way below their potential.
I personally like Hurdle, but I think it’s time. He stuck with a shell-shocked Belisle a little too long, and Corpas has been disappointing. Of course not all of that is Clint’s fault, but he’s gotta make room for Stewart, and get better at platooning guys, and reworking the batting order against lefties. The management of that pitching staff, which has been awful overall needs to be improved as well.
At this point, they should not be 10 games under with the talent they have. All of this with an unexpectedly good season coming out of a rejuvenated Helton, and really pretty good pitching from a hard luck Jiminez. Fowler is a keeper – speed and range and a good eye.
After the Dodgers sweep, it’s really tough to get motivated to get out to the ballpark at this point. It’s time to jolt the system, and unfortunately that means letting Hurdle and Apodaca go. At the beginning of the season this division was for the taking, even more so after Manny got suspended. They should be in the hunt right now.
Hello Posters,
This site is a refreshing change from many others.
And I think the overall civility is the main reason — that and the information not found elsewhere.
Thanks, Tracy, for the work you, Jack and Steve do.
It is appreciated.
As others have said, posts are an enjoyable part. It’s great to be able to share views with other fans. I’ve certainly learned a lot.

This has proved to be a great site, and I look forward to checking it every day. I’m encouraged by the growth of the comment threads and the intelligent discussions in them.
This site is tremendous. It is my number one Rockies stop. There are other places to read and post, but you find a lot of “sux” and “blows” type comments. This site is informative, specific and personalized. Tracy, Jack and Steve – thank you for taking the time. I would also like to thank the other folks that post here. You guys are indeed solid.
Firefox will spell check too. great site, really loving it. especially in the wake of RMN. Do you think Tulo will ever return to 2007 form, Tracy?
Thanks to Tracy, Jack, and Steve for posting information about the Rockies and baseball. This is the first site I look to for Rockies information.
The discussion is civil and ideas are exchanged. I look forward to more information and discussion as we all struggle through this season.
Tracy and crew, you guys have a great site here. I read it daily. I dont take the newspapers anymore, so your site is my primary one for Rockies coverage. I think everyone is totally frustrated by the play of the Rockies this year. We are fortunate to have you as a recognized and respected baseball writer to get your take on what is going on. JMO, but until the Rockies get rid of Hurdle and Apadoca I dont think things will ever improve. I have only been to 3 games this year, which is the fewest ever for me, a diehard fan and original season ticket holder. Too bad the team has destroyed fan interest here. The fans deserve better!
Always love coming here to read up on my Rockies. It’s good to know that (as a soon-to-be journalism major) there are still options open to get the stories out in a post-newspaper world. Keep up the good work guys, hopefully the Rox will start providing material that isn’t all negative soon.
Thx all. My visits to the site are dropping at the rate the Rox are falling behind the Dodgers in the standings. Time to get a life I suppose.
Thanks for the great site and a place to read about the Rockies while I am on the road. I love to read the fan’s perspective on our issues. Thanks Tracy.
Bill Geivett
Bill,
It would be great to read an Assistant General Manager, Vice President – Baseball Operations’s perspective on “our” issues…
Hello Joseph,
What an excellent idea.
Won’t hold my breath, but it would be really something to hear from the folks making the decisions at the top — including the owners. Actually, it would be a smart move.
Can’t think of a better forum than this one for them to share their thoughts.

While other Rockies sites are degenerating into a feeding frenzy of juvenile Hurdle bashing, InsidetheRockies has emerged as a great source of insight for the most knowledgeable and dedicated Rockies fans. Tracy, Jack, and Steve are the best–real pros!
Colorado’s newest fourteener: the 14 1/2 game deficit the Rockies need to ascend in order to b-slap the Dodgers and rep the team properly. Good luck Rockies.
Win the big one!
I like the tone of this site, the genuine feel for the game… by the writers and posters alike. Isn’t that what is great about baseball?
I’ve been to several parks around the leagues, and there’s a connection with total strangers sitting around you as you discuss the game.
This site feels like baseball to me. Thanks, all, especially Jack and Tracy.
I hope that with the notoriety for this site that came with getting the word out on the report of Hurdle’s dismissal today that this site does not get into bashing of the team and just whining in general. Some of the comments on the Hurdle post have gone that way. It’s everyone’s right to have an opinion, but hopefully most of the posters have an informed one and not just a blog to “say whatever” to try to be funny or stir things up kind of one.
When the RMN closed down I was very disappointed, but then when “Inside the Rockies” was developed and online I was so excited. I learn so much about the Rockies through the articles and the comments. As a fan, this is a great place to visit daily and is an A-1 Class Act. Thanks to everyone!
Great to see you are still around. Hadn’t seen a post in some time.
Oh, I’ve been around. This site and PR are the only ones I read to get my Rockies information. But, you my friend, are the best in the biz. I also enjoy reading Mr. Harding too. He’s been very good at answering all my emails. If you seen him, tell him I said hello. Go Rockies!!!
