Right-handed pitcher Jason Grilli was dealt to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. The Rockies are expected to receive a cash payment for Grilli.

Grilli was designated for assignment last week to make room for right-hander Matt Daley to come off the disabled list.

The Rockies were hoping to find a deal for Grilli, who has an $800,000 salary.

I was hoping he would clear waivers. Good luck Grilli, I will be rooting for your success with the Rangers.

Goodbye, Jason. And thanks (seriously) for a heck of a run last year after coming over from the Tigers. May you have a similar run for the Rangers starting now.
