The Rockies extended their winning streak to nine games with a win against Seattle on Friday. It equals the second longest in franchise history.
Why the turn around?
The only sensible answer is it makes no sense.

Do you think there is value in having served as a bench coach for the Rockies prior to becoming the head coach. Considering all the intricacies of the ballpark and just the opportunity to get to know the personnel would had to have greatly benefited Tracy. A bench coach constantly has to ask himself what would I do if I was the manager。 It is kind of a dress rehearsal. I would be curios to know what past Rockies coaches have to say about that theory.
I enjoy your blog, keep up the good work.
Dan, I think the bench coach opportunity served Jim Tracy well because it gave him a chance to get a legitiamte read on the Rockies players with his own eyes. He doesn’t have to rely on the views of others.
We said Tracy, I believe it would be beneficial to have Tori. go to Colorado Springs to help Morales get back on track
It makes no sense? They got rid of the worst manager in MLB history who failed to inspire the players, who made horrendous gameday decisions, who made players look stupid like benching Tulowitzki, a great first ball hitter, for swinging at the first pitch and then announcing it publicly so that Tulowitzki could be humiliated by the national media. Then Tulowitzki who was hot went into a slump. The list of his idiotic and embarrasing managing goes on and on. Tracy has done a great job so far and the players seem way more motivated, much better gameday decisons are made and now the team is playing up to his capabilities. The cloud over Hurdle was also distracting the team and taking focus away from the team element and winning. So it makes perfect sense.

Where would Snell fit in? I was wondering if you had heard these same rumors Tracy?
Tracy,
MLBRUMORS.COM is reporting the Rockies may acquire Ian Snell from Pit. This can’t be true, can it? He is not better than any of the 5 starters and probably not better than Morales or Fogg, both of whom can start games due to injury, etc. Plus, more importantly, it sounds to me like he has big attitude problems. I think it is great if the Rockies are looking around, but let’s be smart about it. Maybe if they take a flyer on him, low A prospect or something, it is low-risk, high-reward.
Karl and Robb, I would say the Rockies interest in Snell would be minimal. He has too much money coming and too weak a resume. Now, if the Pirates were looking to give him away, maybe. Jim Tracy did manage him in Pittsburgh. That doesn’t necessarily mean he wants him in Denver. sometimes we inthe media add 2 and 2 and get 5.
