ESPN is reporting:
Some think left-handed pitcher Victor Payano, who is represented by Dominican trainer Edgar Mercedes, may sign with the Colorado Rockies for a bonus in the $600,000 range. Colorado is also the likely landing spot for shortstop Rosel Herrera, who is also represented by Mercedes.

Tracy- Where would these guys fit in the organization (Modesto, Asheville, Tulsa, etc.)?
Drew S., most llikey they would spend this summer in the Dominican Summer League. They are not eligible to sign until July.
$600,000, for a kid the team has seen only a few times. Do the Rockies have anyone in the D.R., that sees, speaks and reports for the Rockies(eye in the sky)? Yes these players may be a lottery ticket, but whose picking the numbers? Tell D.O.D; not to go with his gut feeling, but go with what his guys are telling him. The future is looking bright….Still I Rise!
Thanks Tracy. Keep up the good work
With the success that Rolando Fernandez has had, you have to assume that these kids are the real deal.
Rolando is respected, yet how many of his “talents” how gone by none. The D.R. is a hotspot to land talent, and a kid with brains. Like here in the U.S., if educated right…you have a “jewel”
