Six Tulsa Players Are All-Stars
Four pitchers and two position players from Double-A Tulsa were chosen Tuesday to participate in the Texas League All-Star Game on July 1 at Frisco, Texas.
Starters Jhoulys Chacin, Esmil Rogers and Samuel Deduno, closer Andrew Johnston, shortstop Daniel Mayora and first baseman Jeff Kindel, who was selected as a designated hitter, are members of the North Division team. The Drillers entered play Monday with a 32-30 record, two games behind and in third place.
Chacin is 4-5 with a 3.13 ERA and is third in the league with 57 strikeouts and fifth with 69 innings pitched. Rogers is 5-2 with a 2.82 ERA, which ranks second in league, leads in strikeouts (67) and is second in innings pitched (73 1/3).
Deduno is 6-2 with a 2.98 ERA, which is third in the league and is tied for the league lead in wins. Deduno is currently on the disabled list with a mild left oblique strain. Johnston leads the league with 17 saves and is 1-3 with a 2.62 ERA.
Mayora is hitting .306 with two homers, 23 RBI, eight stolen bases and a .370 on-base percentage. Kindel is hitting .292 with two homers, 27 RBI and a .377 on-base percentage.

That’s pretty good to get 3 starters on the team.
I wonder which pitcher would be called up to AAA first? My first inclination is Chacin, but it looks as if Rogers is out-performing him a bit.
Deduno should be back in the rotation within the week. Expect him to dominate & move up. Good strike out pitcher, can’t hit curve ball, excellent movement.
