Catcher Yorvit Torrealba finished up his five-game stint in the minor leagues. He was to report to the Rockies Monday and be examined by trainer Keith Dugger to ensure that he is ready to be activated to the big-league roster.

Torrealba has been out of action since June 2. He left the team in Houston to return home to Venezuela after his son was kidnapped. The boy was safely returned, but Torreabla moved his family to the United States and then was given time to get back in playing shape.

Paul Phillips has filled in as the backup to Chris Iannetta during Torrealba’s absence. Phillips has hit in seven consecutive games. He has failed to throw out any of 13 runners attempting to steal a base with him behind the plate, but the Rockies are 8-3 when he starts.
