Kasey McKeon, who spent the past seven seasons as a special assistant to Rockies general manager Dan O’Dowd is headed east.

McKeon was hired by the Washington Nationals as Director of Player Procurement. He is a former scouting director for the Cincinnati Reds, and the son of long-time baseball official Jack McKeon. The elder McKeon once managed the Denver Bears, and managed in the big leagues with Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Cincinnati and Florida, where he managed the Marlins to the 2003 world championship.
