    Tracy,

Why haven’t we seen anything about the signings of the GM and skipper?

Tracy, how do you feel about about playing chicken with Marquis and Torreabla? They are both type B free agents…lets offer arbitration and see what happens…hopefully they won’t resign and we will get draft picks. :)

What do you think are the odds of this blowing up in our face are?

FYI, I like your Rockies’ bias in your writing even though East Coast baseball fans don’t.

Hey guys, well, i’ve got to tell you, sometimes I really don’t understand this part of baseball. I mean, things like buyouts, elegibility, arbitration and that stuff. I know what a free agent is, but I don’t know all those english definitions and sometimes I get confused.

This time what I understand is that Torrealba and Embree a free agents now. Does that mean that now every club (including the Rockies) could sign him? What would the difference have been if the Rockies offered something before?

If someone that could find any website that could explain all those definitions in an easy way, please tell me. I’ll be very thankful.

Cesar – here’s a link to a site that shows all kinds of baseball rules in regards to free agency, arbitration, rule 5, and other types of rules.

Thank you Brian H, I will check out the information

Is there any word on Garrett Atkins yet?

is there any word on why the o’dowd and tracy deals are not finalized? Didn’t O’dowd’s deal expire at the end of October? Is he at the GM meetings right now?

  • robba said:

Karl, I agree fully. The delay in getting the deals done makes the organization look stupid and uncaring. It’s a matter of perception, whatever the reality is. O’Dowd and Tracy should have gotten their extensions, and their moments in the sun, right after the World Series was over.

  • Tracy Ringolsby (author) said:

Karl, O’Dowd is at the GM meetings and all busiess is as usual. Everyone has been told they will be back. There are details that have to be worked out and there has been a series of internal matters that have slowed things down. Right now, for instance, Tracy is getting ready for the marriage of a son this week. There is not any indication of concern on anybody’s part. I don’t think there has been any delay in getting other issues addressed.

  • Karl said:

Thanks for the clarification. I just thought we were supposed to have heard by now. That’s good to know that there isn’t something internal going on. Good to see O’Dowd get recognized today. I just wasn’t sure if there was more to the story on this. Glad to know nothing there.
