Corpas slowed by tweaked hamstring
TUCSON — Reliever Manuel Corpas tweaked his right hamstring Saturday while crouching to field a ball during a drill. Rather than run, Corpas finished his conditioning at the end of the workout on an elliptical machine. He had ice on his leg and was sore after the workout.
The injury is not considered serious, but Corpas’ running likely will be curtailed until the soreness disappears. He was hurt on a back field behind Hi Corbett Field. Trainer Keith Dugger was called from an adjacent field to tend to Corpas, who then moved to a hitting station with his work group.
Before suffering the hamstring strain, Corpas had already thrown a bullpen session Saturday, his first of the spring as he comes back from the elbow surgery followed by a staph infection that derailed his 2009 season in late July. He made his final regular season appearance last season on July 20 and four days later, underwent surgery to remove a bone chip in his right elbow.

Is he that out of shape with zero flexibilty that he pulls a hamstring bending over to pick up a ball. Give me a break.
Come on Fred, lets not jump to conclusions. He didn’t pull his hamstring, he tweaked it. At this point in camp when anyone does anything that even closely resembles an injury they pull them out of practice. My guess is that if this were a game in July he would have pitched through it, but since it is February they take all of the necessary precautions.
David,
You are exactly right. Corpas wasn’t bending over to pick up a ball. He was readying himself to field one and going into a crouch when he felt something. Had it been more serious, he would have left the field at that point.
