Brad Hawpe is hitting cleanup and making his spring debut today. And Melvin Mora will make his second consecutive start at second base today against the Rangers. He also started there Tuesday in Glendale, Ariz., against the Dodgers.
The Rockies lineup:
CF Fowler
1B Paulk
2B Mora
RF Hawpe
C Iannetta
3B Stewart
LF Spilborghs
SS Quintanilla
P Cook

Jack,
I believe you mean Omar Quintanilla is as SS today, not at 2B.
Matt,
Thanks for pointing that out.
Although it’s very early, if the Rox keep Mora does Quintanilla go back to AAA (don’t know his option status), get released or traded?
Barmes has middle infield defensive talent, but if he struggles making contact, even tho he’s newly contracted, is he the odd man out?
Tracy, Jack see you later this year.

Barmes better not start off the season in a deep Barmes-like slump. I have a feeling Mora will handle 2B quite capably, thank you, and he’s a pretty decent candidate for a rebound at the plate.
