The Colorado Rockies optioned second baseman Eric Young Jr., to Triple-A Colorado Springs, and reassigned eight non-roster players to minor league camp on Tuesday, leaving them with 33 players on their spring roster.
Reassigned to the minor league camp were catchers Paul Lo Duca and Paul Phillips, outfielders Cole Garner, Matt Miller and Jay Payton, shortstop Omar Quintanilla, left-handed pitcher Matt Reynolds and first baseman Michael Paulk.
Young, Phillips, Garner and Payton will travel with the Rockies to Albuquerque for the final spring training games against Seattle on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Tracy, would you be able to list the players who still have minor-league options of those anticipated to make the 25-man roster?
Among those with minor league options are Manuel Corpas, Matt Daley, Greg Smith, Dexter Fowler, Carlos Gonzalez, ian Stewart, Jeff Francis, and Ubaldo Jimenez.
Tracy,
Do you anticipate LoDuca and Payton accepting jobs in Colorado Springs?
I’m a little surprised Manuel Corpas made the team, considering his poor play this spring and the fact that he still has a minor league option.
