Four Rockies among rest of BA’s best prospects
Baseball America‘s Jim Callis in his weekly Ask BA column, offered some more depth to BA‘s Top 100 prospects list released last week. The list is compiled by six BA writers and editors who rank their 150 top prospects and the votes are tallied to come up with a final Top 100. Callis revealed the rest of the players who received votes on any of the larger lists as well as the highest ranking the player received.
In addition to the three Rockies who made the final top 100 list — Tyler Matzek (32), Wilin Rosario (49) and Nolan Arenado (80) — four Rockies prospects also received votes:
- Rex Brothers, LHP — votes: 4; top ranking: 103.
- Christian Friedrich, LHP — votes: 5; top ranking: 58.
- Kyle Parker, OF — votes: 1, top ranking: 137.
- Peter Tago, RHP — votes: 2; top ranking: 127.
