Rockies reassign 14 players to minor-league camp

The Colorado Rockies made their first cuts Sunday, reassigning 14 players — mostly pitchers — to their minor league camp. The most successful among the group so far this spring has been outfielder Cole Carner, who hit .375 with three doubles in 12 spring games.

Of the 14 players, five were on the 40-man roster and were optioned to the minors. Garner and pitcher Bruce Billings were optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs. Catcher Wilin Rosario, infielder Hector Gomez and pitcher Casey Weathers were optioned to Double-A Tulsa.
