Rockies set upcoming rotation, plan to skip Mortensen
The Colorado Rockies have set their starting rotation for the rest of the current homestand and will skip Clayton Mortensen, whose next regular turn falls on Thursday’s off day. Mortensen will instead start next Tuesday in the finale of a two-game series with the San Francisco Giants.
The Rockies upcoming rotation:
- Tuesday, vs. Mets: Jason Hammel
- Wednesday, vs. Mets: Ubaldo Jimenez
- Friday, vs Padres: Jorge De La Rosa
- Saturday, vs. Padres: Jhoulys Chacin
- Sunday, vs. Padres: Hammel
- Monday, vs. Giants: Jimenez
- Tuesday vs. Giants: Mortensen
The Rockies also reported that Aaron Cook threw three innings and 35 pitchers in a start at extended spring training and felt healthy.
