How is John Maine doing? What is he doing? is he doing?

Maine is on the disabled list at Triple-A with shoulder inflammation.

31 walks in 23 innings is rather distressing. I hope it’s not Steve Blass disease.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Matzek is a ways away from the bigs. LOL. Regardless of what happens with him though, I’m glad the Rox drafted the best player on the board instead of drafting a low ceiling “safe” guy like Reynolds. You win some and you lose some, but at least you go after the guys with the talent. Still way too early on Matzek though, I’m just saying in general.

So what’s happened to Matzek. His mechanics are obviously a mess unless he’s hurt. If he’s hurt, this is all understandable but if not, what does the pitching coach say? If I’m Rockies’ management, I get the best pitching coach I can find (Leo Mazzone?), hire him as a consultant, hire a sports psychologist and send them to Modesto, all expenses paid and protect my investment. Matzek, as of this season, is no “prospect” at all. You can’t walk a semi full of batters every game and play this game.
