Catcher was 2-for-4 with a double and drove in the go-ahead run with ninth-inning single. First baseman was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. Right fielder was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Starting pitcher Alan Johnson allowed four runs in six innings.
Double-A Tulsa (L, 7-2 vs. Springfield, box)
Third baseman Darin Holcomb was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Center fielder and left fielder Scott Beerer each drove in a run. Starting pitcher allowed five runs (four earned) in six innings. Reliever allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning. It was his fifth scoreless appearance in his past six.
High Class-A Modesto (L, 9-1 vs San Jose, box)
Orlando Sandoval produced the Nuts’ only run with a solo home run. Starting pitcher Nick Schnaittman allowed nine runs (eight earned) in 4 2/3 innings.
