I noticed that Garner is now batting .384 (.91 points higher than Ian at CS). Is Garner this year’s version of Matt Miller (someone who posts great numbers at CS but isn’t perceived as being a major leaguer), or is he a real prospect who might be able to succeed at the major league level and help the Rockies? He has the benefit of hitting right handed, which we are short of in outfielders. What kind of fielder is he?
Garner’s a better prospect than Miller (who’s hitting .236 in the Phillies organization this season). Better all-around player, certainly defensively. Maybe has a future in the majors as a fourth or fifth outfielder.
Matt Miller has retired…
I’ve watched him a few times. He reminds me a little of Spilly. To me he is a grinder that if ever given the chance will probably stay around. Probably a bench guy that just does enough little things to keep his job. I like him.
