It will be interesting to see how Charlie does in the lead off spot. His OBP is at .306, so that will need to climb quite a bit if he is to stay in the lead off spot.

If he can, that would be a boon to the Rocks who could then move CarGo back to 3rd, Helton to 5th, Smith to 6th, Wiggy to 7th.

Is there an update as to how long CarGo might be out?

Just as well skip Atlanta and vacation in D.C. until Friday’s series opener. And forfeit the game Sunday since we can’t win on a Sunday ever.

If we take 3 of 4 in Atlanta and sweep the Nats, my morale will skyrocket and we’re gonna have a street party during the ASB. *Slap* “Only a pipe dream,” my baseball god tells me.

    Spilly Dilly Doodle Walla Day!!!

  • rockymountainhigh | July 4, 2011 | 5:31 pm

Like I said we should have skipped Atlanta. We had to limit Braves to one run or less to win. Games over in the first inning already.

Ubaldo is just an average pitcher this year. His pitches are just up way more frequently.

Oh shoot. All fired up to comment earlier in the day. This roadie is critical. 7 for us away, 6 at home for SF. We could easily end up 9 behind before coming home. Watching on delay as usual but we are already behind. This trip could be the season.

CarGo out. Tulo out. The death march commences. Queue up the Chopin.

    Cooommmme on Rockies!!!!

  • progmatinee | July 4, 2011 | 7:51 pm

This team never catches any breaks. Defenses are always in the right place and make great plays against us.

  • progmatinee | July 4, 2011 | 7:54 pm

Why can’t the Rockies get some of these amazing prospects like Freeman or Heyward?

  • rockymountainhigh | July 4, 2011 | 8:02 pm

See I called it in the 1st inning that it was over. Have to be impressed with Blackmon and the job he’s done in lead off spit. Two liners at ‘em against a possible Cy Young winner this year.

Sorry, I have been a Tracy supporter, but I think he has to go. The team has no energy; it is totally complacent. He has lost them. That image of he + Apodaca w/ their heads down in the dugout said it all.

  • progmatinee | July 4, 2011 | 8:09 pm

This is why you can’t be satisfied with winning only 2 games against a shitty team like KC. Back to 3 games under .500. Stuck in a vortex of mediocrity.

  • Jeem | July 4, 2011 | 8:18 pm

Having said Tracy needs to go I have no idea who you would go to. Last time I checked Billy Martin was still dead.

  • Agbayani | July 4, 2011 | 8:25 pm

    Enthusiasm scale:

Billy Martin (dead) >> Jim Tracy (nominally alive)

  • Eric W. | July 4, 2011 | 8:28 pm

Now no death threats here… Rockies need pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching….

  • Agbayani | July 4, 2011 | 8:30 pm

Hey, not a death threat! Just a couple “greater than” signs. (Not sure what you’re seeing in that …)

  • Jeem | July 4, 2011 | 8:42 pm

    That’s a definite LOL!

  • Bill | July 4, 2011 | 10:56 pm

Some hitting to go along with that pitching would help. 4 hits, 1 run aren’t going to win many games.

Tracy will say, we can’t use injuries as an excuse, but of course that will be his excuse.

Billy Martin is dead, but Larry Bowa isn’t. He probably wouldn’t last long, but he would certainly stir up a hornet’s nest.

How about asking Lou Piniella to come put of retirement? My first choice is really John Sciosca if we can pry him away from Angels.

  • Rocky | July 5, 2011 | 9:41 am

I think it’s all just perfume on the pig. DOD is the core problem, yes really. He dealt Tracy a bad hand. The Rockies are just plain awful. It’s gonna be 2008 all over again.
