The Colorado Rockies placed outfielder Charlie Blackmon on the disabled list and have recalled outfielder Cole Garner from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Blackmon fractured his left foot rounding second base on his way to third in the third inning of a 6-3 loss Thursday against the Atlanta Braves. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Garner joined the Rockies earlier in the week after Carlos Gonzalez injured his wrist crashing into the wall at Coors Field on Sunday. Garner made his major league debut on Monday, pinch-hitting and flying out to right in the eighth inning of the first of four losses to the Braves. He was optioned in favor of Ian Stewart on Tuesday.
