Triple-A Colorado Springs (W, 11-6 vs. Salt Lake, box)
Right fielder Joe Mather, who signed a min0r-league contract with the Colorado Rockies on Monday, was 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored. Shortstop Alfredo Amezaga was 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs. Third baseman Warren Schaeffer was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Starting pitcher Edgar Gonzalez allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings.

Double-A Tulsa (W, 5-4 at Corpus Christi, 10 innings, box)
Third baseman Darin Holcomb was 4-for-5 with a double and five RBI, including a go-ahead run on single in the 10th. Center fielder Tim Wheeler was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Shortstop Thomas Field was 2-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base. First baseman Ben Paulsen was 2-for-4 with two runs. Starting pitcher Cory Riordan allowed four runs and struck out eight in seven innings.

High Class-A Modesto (W, 5-2 at Stockton, box)
Right fielder Kent Matthes was 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI. Starting pitcher Parker Frazier allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits, walked three and struck out seven in 7 2/3 innings.

Low Class-A Asheville (L, 14-8 vs. Augusta, box)
Right fielder Kyle Parker was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Third baseman Helder Velazquez was 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI and a run scored. Starting pitcher Juan Gonzalez allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Short-Season Class-A Tri-City (L, 14-7 at Salem-Keizer, box)
Shortstop Timothy Smalling was 3-for-5 with three doubles and three runs. Left fielder Leonardo Reyes was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run. Third baseman Jayson Langfels was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Starting pitcher Ricardo Ferrer allowed 10 runs (seven earned) in four innings.

Rookie Casper (L, 7-4 at Ogden, box)
Catcher Will Swanner was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Second baseman Yafistel Roja was 2-for-5 with a doubled and an RBI. Starting pitcher Alex Gillingham allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings.

    If Kent Matthes and Will Swanner can either draw more walks or cut down their strikeouts they could become solid big leaguers. Both are electric bats with power potential.
