Has Rogers moved to the front of the line for starters if one of the existing 5 starters gets injured or gets dropped?
Give Rogers a couple more starts in AAA and then bring him up for the rest of the season and move Cookie to the BP. It may be a frustrating rest of the season but these young pitchers (Nicasio too) can gain a lot of good experience in hopes of really contributing next season. I’d wait and bring up Greg Reynolds in September when rosters expand and get him a handful of starts too(maybe a 6 man rotation?). It’s time to see if he can actually help the big club or not.
Good reasoning Kyle
Nice to see Rogers have a good outing after some dreadful ones after that injury. Would be great to see him take that #5 spot. I am guessing either Cook or Hammel gets dealt by the trading deadline, so he may be here soon.
I earlier said I cannot see Ian getting traded without a real 3B on the roster. Maybe Nelson deserves a shot at playing 3B up here. Certainly there is not much left for him to do in the minors.
Kandilas (R+ Ghosts) has been really heating up of late and is putting together a few multi hit games, and leads the Ghosts in SB’s and rbi’s and second in .avg currently. He gunned down a runner tonight in Helena with that cannon of his. Nobody ever seems to be talking about him but I think before long a few folks will. He’s got 4 good tools and the power is on the way.
