Center fielder Alfredo Amezaga was 3-for-5 with a run. First baseman Mike Jacobs was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Third baseman Matt Macri was 3-for-4 with a double and a run. Starting pitcher Greg Reynolds allowed seven runs in four innings.
Double-A Tulsa (L, 5-2 vs. Arkansas, box)
Center fielder Tim Wheeler was 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run, his 29th. Shortstop Hector Gomez was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Starting pitcher Cory Riordan allowed three runs in six innings.
High Class-A Modesto (W, 9-6 at High Desert, box)
Right fielder Kent Matthes followed up his three-home-run night by going 1-for-4 with his 21st home run, two RBI and two runs. First baseman Jared Clark was 4-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs. Catcher Beau Seabury was 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run. Designated hitter Kiel Roling was 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Starting pitcher Chad Bettis allowed five runs (four earned) and struck out seven in 7 2/3 innings.
Low Class-A Asheville (Postponed)
Short-Season Class-A Tri-City (W, 9-3 at Yakima, box)
Left fielder Leonardo Reyes was 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and a run. Catcher Richard Pirkle was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run. Starting pitcher Ricardo Ferrer allowed three runs in five innings.
Rookie Casper (L, 7-3 at Helena, box)
Center fielder David Kandilas was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Second baseman Julian Yan was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI. Starting pitcher Geoff Parker allowed five runs in six innings.







Get Wheeler in the Bigs today! He is obviously better than AA.
Agree Swam. When Spilly is dealt bring him up and start him…he will struggle to start with but he has learned all he can at AA and AAA in the PCL teaches bad habits. Let him learn good tough habits here. If a deal can be made for Ellis (based on his comeback out of the deathtrap of Oakand Col.), then bring up Gomez as well. There does seem to be some pop down on the farm. What is not showing up as far as I can tell is strong pitching.So that might be the reason for the deal potentially for Ubaldo.
