Rockies: Nicasio resting following surgery on his neck
The Colorado Rockies released this update Saturday morning regarding pitcher Juan Nicasio, who was hit in the head by a line drive Friday:
“Juan is resting comfortably at a Denver hospital following surgery early this morning to stabilize a fracture to the C-1 vertebrae in his neck. Juan will remain hospitalized as he recovers from the surgery.”
Nicasio, who started Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals, was struck by a ball hit by Ian Desmond, leading off the second inning.

Good rest, and godspeed Juan on your recovery and return to the Rockies in 2012.
Thoughts and prayers are with you, god bless. We’ll miss you, hope you recover strong and well.
Godspeed
Scary, good luck Juan!
Good luck, Juan. Here’s to hoping you feel better. Line-drives off pitchers are the scariest moments in baseball.
This sucks in so many ways. We love you Juan, but no rush! Just get that neck healed up right.
