The Colorado Rockies released this update Saturday morning regarding pitcher Juan Nicasio, who was hit in the head by a line drive Friday:

“Juan is resting comfortably at a Denver hospital following surgery early this morning to stabilize a fracture to the C-1 vertebrae in his neck. Juan will remain hospitalized as he recovers from the surgery.”

Nicasio, who started Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals, was struck by a ball hit by Ian Desmond, leading off the second inning.

Good luck, Juan. Here’s to hoping you feel better. Line-drives off pitchers are the scariest moments in baseball.

This sucks in so many ways. We love you Juan, but no rush! Just get that neck healed up right.
