The Colorado Rockies have recalled right-handed pitcher Josh Roenicke from Triple-A Colorado Springs and optioned Greg Reynolds.

Roenicke, who the Rockies claimed on waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays in early June, was 0-1 with a 3.64 ERA in 22 games for the Sky Sox.

Reynolds was recalled Saturday to provide long relief. He allowed four runs in one inning in the Rockies’ 15-7 win over the Washington Nationals.

Hmm. Does this mean Mortensen will be called up to start when Nicasio’s slot comes back around? Roenicke’s Gary’s son, and nephew of the Brewers’ manager, btw.

Can we please call up Mortenson and his 10 + era in AAA?

Can we please call up Mortenson and his 10 + era in AAA? There are probably a few guys that post on this board that could put up a sub 10 era in AAA. Not criticizing anybody for saying who to call up, I realize we are out of decent options.

And now we know why Ubaldo was traded…no arms major league ready due to injuries, bad scouting, and kids who didn’t as they should.
