Rockies Prospects and Futures
I believe it would probably be best to send Rex Brothers down to Triple-A; he has hit a rough patch, and inconsistent stints won’t cure that. At least he’s having problems at the bigs, and not like a certain ’07 1st-round pick… .
Are Yacko and Woods legitimate relievers, set-up men, or future closers? Their stats are excellent compared to all the other relievers in our system.
I have said this before, our AAA pitching staff is abysmal. If the high averages and poor pitching is a result of the stadium it may be time for a move. They can either find another location in Colo Springs or move the team (Northern Colorado would be good). It is so hard to get a read on our players while they are playing in that stadium.
Wayne, totally agree, but it’s the same throughout the PCL. It is a huge hitters league. I read where the Rockies are going to install a humidor down there next year so that should help some.
Yeah Robb I read that also. Hope it helps to bring some normalcy to the stats, but as you said the entire league is skewered offensively.
Rockies have to weigh the value of having their AAA club so close to Denver and those advantages with the way the ballpark doesn’t give them a true read on their players there. Maybe the humidor will help even that out.
Frankly I don’t think northern Colorado/Wyoming are large enough to support a AAA team. Maybe I’m wrong
It was kind of a LOL since I live in Greeley, but you may be surprised after you bring in the populations of Greeley/Evans, Loveland, Ft Collins, Windsor, and other cities that are just as close to Northern Colorado as they are to Denver.
I live in the Springs! Don’t move the Sky Sox!!!
Egossage, the Sky Sox need to move to North Nevada Avenue and away from Powers. Get it part of UCCS and BJs crowd, and also demolish those old motels.
Downtown would be a mess with parking and bars.
I’m with ya DL. If they moved in that area they would be right next to me!!! I live right across from UCCS and attend BJs Brewery regularly!
