Jason Giambi struck in a pinch-hit appearance. Third baseman Matt Macri was 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two runs. Starting pitcher Clayton Mortensen allowed seven runs in 4 1/3 innings.

Double-A Tulsa (Did not play)

High Class-A Modesto (W, 3-2 vs. High Desert, box)
Starting pitcher Edwar Cabrera allowed one run on five hits, walked two and struck out nine in six innings. Cabrera, who did not get the win, has pitched at least six innings in all nine starts he’s made at Modesto. Between Modesto and Asheville, Cabrera has struck out 175 batters in 144 2/4 innings with just 35 walks. Right fielder David Christensen was 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and a run. Shortstop Josh Rutledge was 2-for-4.

Low Class-A Asheville (Did not play)

Short-Season Class-A Tri-City (W, 3-0 vs. Boise, box)
Starting pitcher Christian Bergman allowed four hits, walked no one and struck out six in seven shutout innings. Bergman has not allowed a run in his past four starts. In 30 innings during that span, he has allowed just 16 hits and two walks and has struck out 24. Center fielder Brian Humphries was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a solo home run, two stolen bases and three runs.
