Pomeranz undergoes emergency appendectomy
Left-handed pitcher, who took a perfect game into the seventh inning in his debut in the Colorado Rockies organization Wednesday at Double-A Tulsa, had an emergency appendectomy Saturday.
The team said Pomeranz is resting and is expected to be released form the hospital Sunday.
Pomeranz was expected to soon follow, who will start for the Rockies on Tuesday, and join the starting rotation as the season winds down. The time off for recovery from the surgery, though, may put an end his season.
