And the third name I pull from my hat is ……..

Wow, if Pomeranz wins another game with this lineup can we give him an honorary Cy Young? If I was him I would ask why JT hate me.

Just watched Key Rosenthal’s latest over at FoxSports (where the great Tracy R also writes) and he says that if the BoSox do fully collapse (back to 3 game lead with one more against the Rays), that Terry Francona could be let go (evidently he does not have a contract for next year). Sorry, but as much as we focus on a power hitting bat or pitcher, can you think of any one person who could make this team better immediately than Terry Francona? Just a thought as I look at the line-up above (granted, huge injury issues) and the issues that we have faced this year in developing a constant line-up.

And yet this lineup is 10x stronger than last night.

FGH just said SF pitchers are something like 5-9 in this series. WTF?

Pomeranz may be the real deal. He seems to have great poise out there.

Does anyone think Huston Street will be back next year? He sure seemed to regress this year. As many have pointed out, plenty of arms regress under Abodaca, is Street another?

Unfortunately, Street is yet another player O’Dowd overpaid and overextended, giving him a three-year deal for around $22M.

So as much as I would like to see him gone, I’m afraid he’ll back…along with the hapless Wigginton. What team would take Street with his $7M contract?

I was at the game tonight; Brothers breezed through the seventh on 9-10 pitches. So I was hoping he’d stay in the game. Street was absolutely abysmal—single, error, double, triple. How can Tracy trust him any more? Giants are getting back in the division race thanks to Rockies’ ineptitude.

Yet another miserable game in a miserable season.

Agree completely with the above sentiments about Street, who should be the long man. I don’t see how you can trust him in the 8th inning of a close game, but despite pretty substantial evidence Tracy keeps using him…and paying the consequences.

I was at tonight’s game as well and had a really bad feeling once I saw Street coming in at the start of the 8th to replace Brothers, who was terrific in the 7th. And then Street blows the lead and the game.

Doctor Christopher, I completely agree with you, a new manager makes this team much much better even if we don’t sign anyone this winter. But unfortunately, upper management and owners don’t see this for some reason….
