Michael Marbry, a former infielder who turned 27 in September, emerged as a pitcher at Modesto this season, pitching his way into late-blooming prospect status.
So it begins…will the Rockies be rebuilt, tweaked or stand pat?
Aside from a big bopper like Wright someone that would be on my radar is Grady Sizemore. Is he worth taking a flier on? Have to believe he would like the Coors Field effect…but would he be slowed by having to learn NL pitching?
Who are some of the players we should look at as Rockies fans?
Nolan Arenado was 2-for-5 with his second solo home run in as many games and Joe Gardner pitched three solid innings in a 6-2 Salt River win Wednesday.
Nolan Arenado was 2-for-4 with solo home run in a 4-3 Salt River win Tuesday. It was the third home run and league-leading 21st RBI for Arenado, who is hitting .377 and has failed to produce a hit in just one of his 14 games.
Marcel Lachemann has resigned after 12 seasons in the Colorado Rockies organization, including the past 10 as a special assistant to general manager Dan O’Dowd and two before that as the Rockies pitching coach.
The Colorado Rockies have added Jerry Weinstein to the coaching staff as the major league catching coach. Weinstein, who managed at high Class-A Modesto for the past five seasons, replaces Marv Foley who returns to the role as minor league catching coordinator, a position he held from 2003-10.

Runners on second and third with no body out, and the Rangers two best hitters coming up to the plate. In case you weren’t watching here is what happened next.
First, Josh Hamilton hits a sacrifice fly scoring the runner from third to tie the game 1-1.
Second, the runner on second sees that the ball is hit just hard enough …
Joe Gardner allowed two hits, walked two and struck out four in three shutout innings Thursday to pick up his first Arizona Fall League win in a 7-2 Salt River win. In was the third start of the fall for Gardner, who is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in seven innings.
Nolan Arenado was 4-for-5 with his second home run in as many games and drove in four, pushing his Arizona Fall League-leading total to 19 in a 12-9 Salt River win Tuesday.
