Well, I have been working on getting this setup and have to admit it is really hard to  give this link out because there are still some things that aren’t right, but i really don’t want people to “wander off” without knowing of the new site.  I’ve spent a lot of time putting together the foundation of a site that I am proud of, but like anything you work hard on for others – it is never perfect. It looks a bit strange in IE and also has some color / layout issues here and there, but for the most part it is functional.  It will only get better and better over the next few weeks.  I’m sorry i’ve cut it so close!

I will also be adding a lot of cool features as the games arrive and hope the ITR crowd will mosey on over to the new site to bring this amazing discussion we’ve all had here over the years.

Here is the new site link:

Again I must apologize for the “dust” from the new site construction and promise you I am working on getting it just right…I’ve put up a few articles/commentary and will soon have it so you guys can post as well, helping me keep it fresh!

One last thanks to Steve and the ITR gang – i’ve LOVED this site and hope you will all feel welcome to pop-by the new site with your thoughts and fan musings…

Many, many props to you jaredean.

You will receive many “extras” in the afterlife for your work here in Roxland.

Hope ALL of us will mosey over and begin a new era in baseball musings from our very tight-knit “family.”

I will be more than happy to continue the “Ask EdtheUmp a question” forum if you’d like.

Here’s hoping the new year is good for all of us.

    Thanks again, jaredean.

    Holy shit!!

Magnificent first impression…just visited and am very, very impressed!

    This is gonna be fun!

Just took a quick look at the new site as well, and Jardean has done a terrific job setting this up. Hope to catch all of you over there in 2012, as this new site will only be as good as you previous ITR posters make it, and you obviouly have made this site great over the last three years.

  • Wayne | December 29, 2011 | 8:42 am

Thank you Jaredean. The site looks great and I am sure it will be just as popular with all of us. You have done a great job and I bow to your magnificence. Again, thanks for all your hard work in accomplishing this task.

To Steve, Tracy, and Jack THANK YOU for running this site for the past 2+ years. It has been the one site I go to first thing in the morning and always has a tab open so I can access it about 100 times per day. Good luck to you all and I hope we see you three contributing at the new site from time to time.

    Again, thanks Jaredean.

Outstanding job, Jaredean. Like many others, particularly for ex-Denverites living in faraway time zones like myself, ITR has been a godsend. Thanks so much for picking up the baton and running with it. The new site looks great and better yet, the links work! Kudos!

  • Alex Colfax | December 29, 2011 | 9:49 am

New site looks great….congrats and thanks to Jaredean!

  • Bing | December 29, 2011 | 9:50 am

I’m a lurker here, but had to chime in to say I, too, am really impressed. Thanks much for taking this on. And I add my thanks to the pile heading Steve, Tracy, and Jack’s way, too. See you all on the flip side!

  • jaredean | December 29, 2011 | 10:59 am

Thanks all! You’ve made my 4:00 am programming sessions worth it! I’m very excited to get the new site exactly the way it is in my head…it has been a lot of work, but a labor of love…

and OF COURSE ED! I’ve planned on having an “ASK ED” section all along – i love your insight and i know many here do as well!

Hearty congratulations to Jaredean for his new site, which at first glance looks brilliant. Thanks for all your hard work and long hours that went into crafting, a site I’m sure we’ll all frequent continually.

The site looks great. Thank you.

  • rockymountainhigh | December 29, 2011 | 1:13 pm

    Two thumbs up!

  • Bob in WV | December 29, 2011 | 1:24 pm

I too will be heading there, Jaredean. I don’t post as often as many of you, but I sure do look at this sight nearly every day, and sometimes several times a day just to read the input from all of you. This is, by far, the best group of baseball fans I have ever come across. No trash talk, just great baseball dialogue. I look forward to exchanging with all of you on the new sight. See you soon!

Sorry, you proof-readers, I meant “site”!

  • Deep Purple, formerly Curt in Florida | December 29, 2011 | 1:36 pm

    Bookmarks everyone!

  • SteveinAurora | December 29, 2011 | 7:09 pm

The topic of cost of establishing/maintaining a new site came up a long time ago…really, before anybody could get their arms around what the associated costs might include. Other than (numerous)dinners for Jaredean, what kind of contributions to support the project might apply?

  • Jaredean | December 30, 2011 | 2:46 am

SteveinAurora, that is a good question. When I first brought it up I was assessing everyone’s interest in keeping this site going, possibly buying it, starting a new one, etc.

As I got further into it I realized that I didn’t want the responsibility of taking over ITR’s site not only because the up from cost would require quite a bit of cash, but the site itself has a lot of history and would need to be cared for as such, not letting certain aspects lapse, etc.

So I decided it would be best to take my ideas on a new site and some excellent insight from Steve and other users on here and go that way. It has cost more than I was expecting it would up front and there will be monthly costs associated with it, but it isn’t massive.

Several on here were nice enough to say they would pitch in to help cover some of the costs and I completely appreciate that. I was planning on putting a donation link on the site for those that would like to pitch in and help. Purely volentary of course!

So, look for that on the new site in a couple of days…

  • Ike | December 30, 2011 | 9:39 am

I was wondering about contribution so I am glad that SteveinAurora brought it up. I will look for the donation link and you can count on a contribution from me.

  • Bill | December 30, 2011 | 4:56 pm

Jaredean I haven’t looked yet but I am glad to see that somebody has taken the bull by the horns and done this. I have had quite a bit of my time taken up with family business over the last few months but hopefully the crises stuff is past at least for now. Once I get my business back to making a profit I will have more time to spend on the Rockies. Looking forward to a great 2012. Happy New Year to all.

  • jaredean | December 31, 2011 | 2:24 am

Ike and SteveInAurora, just wanted you to know that I’ve setup the donation link on the site – you can find it in the menu bar by the search box. Thanks again for your willingness to support the cost associated with the move!

  • SteveinAurora | December 31, 2011 | 9:14 pm

On New Year’s Eve, I bid a fond adieu to ITR and welcome all of the changes and surprises that the new year will bring.

Happy New Year to all of you. Christmas didn’t bring us a new second-baseman, but we can continue to lobby.

  • SteveinAurora | December 31, 2011 | 9:19 pm

By the way…Jaredean…what in the wide world of sports are you doing posting on the site at 2:45 in the morning??? Your labor of love baby (referring to the new site here) is launched and widely lauded…get some rest, my friend.

  • jaredean | January 1, 2012 | 12:55 am

Ah, you noticed how late i have been posting here and on the new site did you? Yeah, i’ve been really buring the midnight oil trying to get the site up and going before this one shut down. Because i work during the day I have to do it mostly at night (after the kids are in bed), so i have been busy setting it all up most nights between 11:00 PM and 4:00ish AM for the past few weeks…i am beat, but my body is getting used to the 4 – 6 hours of sleep a night :-)

    Happy 2012 ITR…you will be missed…

Here’s hoping that the Year of the Dragon will be just wat the Rox need to come out fighting and miss the slump/injury bug all together!!!
