The Dust Devils won their first game in the Northwest League playoffs behind starting pitcher Christian Bergman, who took a no-hitter into the six, allowed two hits, walked one and struck out eight in seven innings.
Modesto starting pitcher Chad Bettis pitched another gem, striking out 11 in seven shutout innings, while third baseman Nolan Arenado became the first minor leaguer with 100 RBI this season.
Tulsa’s Tim Wheeler hit his organization-leading 29th home run in a 5-2 loss while Modesto’s Kent Matthes followed up his three-home-run night with his 21st home run in a 9-6 win.

While the Colorado Rockies’ top position player prospects were playing in the Futures Game, one of their best pitching prospects, Tulsa’s Christian Friedrich, put together one of his best starts of the season, allowing just one run on six hits, walking no one and striking out five in eight innings of a 3-2 loss.
Tulsa’s Christian Friedrich took the loss for the Texas League North All-Stars, allowing three hits and a run in the second inning. Scott Beerer had the only hit among Rockies prospects, going 1-for-1 after replacing Tim Wheeler, who was hitless along with teammates Wilin Rosario and Ben Paulsen.

The Colorado Rockies promoted catching prospect Jordan Pacheco to Double-A Tulsa, following a season-ending knee injury to Drillers catcher Wilin Rosario
