Joe Gardner, the least-talked-about pitcher in the Ubaldo Jimenez trade, won for the third consecutive time at Tulsa. Since joining the Colorado Rockies organization, Gardner is 3-2 with a 2.87 ERA in five starts.
Tulsa center fielder Tim Wheeler capped a four-run 10th with his 33rd home run, helping lift the Drillers to 13-9 win that also included two home runs by catcher Wilin Rosario.
Corey Dickerson homered three times — his 28th, 29th and 30th — and drove in six runs in a slugfest for low Class-A Asheville. The Tourists hit eight home runs and scored 21 runs.

Ryan Spilborghs hit two home runs, including a two-run walkoff home run in the 10th inning of his third game on rehab with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Relievers Huston Street and Matt Lindstrom also made rehab appearances, pitching an inning each.
Asheville’s Tyler Matzek allowed four runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out nine in seven innings. It was the fourth straight start for Matzek in which he has pitched at least six innings and the third start in his past four that he pitched seven.

Ryan Spilborghs started his rehab with Triple-A Colorado Springs, going 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Jordan Pacheco made his second start at third base this week.

Modesto’s Nolan Arenado followed three straight games with home runs by going 4-for-6 with three RBIs to bring his season total to 108. Arenado has struck out just three times in 70 at-bats in August and 47 times in 461 at-bats all season.
One day after Drew Pomeranz’s impressive debut in the Colorado Rockies organization, Alex White matched him for Double-A Tulsa, allowed just three hits in 7 2/3 shutout innings. White hasn’t allowed a run since his one-inning rehab debut at Tulsa on Aug. 4.
Ian Stewart was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in a 9-2 Sky Sox loss, his first game for for Triple-A Colorado Springs since being optioned Wednesday.

Modesto shortstop Josh Rutledge had three hits and extended his hitting streak to 27 games. Rutledge is hitting .454 with 16 doubles, four home runs and 26 RBI in July and August.
Starting pitcher Edgar Gonzalez allowed one run on two hits, walked two and struck out three in seven innings. But he was denied a when by a two-run walkoff home run off reliever Jim Miller.
Tulsa’s Dan Houston bounced back from a pair of rough starts to pitch a three-hit shutout, walking two and striking out 10 in the process.
