Rockies send Turpen to Twins to complete Slowey trade

The Colorado Rockies have sent right-handed pitcher Daniel Turpen to the Minnesota Twins to complete the trade for Kevin Slowey. Turpen was acquired by the Rockies in March for catcher Mike McKenry. He was 2-4 with a 4.83 ERA in 48 appearances for Double-A Tulsa.

Chris Balcom-Miller, 22, who was pitching for low Class A Asheville, when the Rockies traded him to the Red Sox for reliever Manny Delcarmen on Aug. 31, is 3-0, 0.60 in three starts for high Class A Salem. Balcom-Miller has allowed 11 hits in 15 innings with three walks and 14 strikeouts. The Rockies let Delcarmen go after last season. He signed a minor league deal with Seattle and is 0-1, 5.14 in six games for Triple-A Tacoma.
