Ryan Spilborghs had another big night on his rehab assignment at Colorado Springs, going 3-for-4 in a 23-11 Sky Sox loss. Spilborghs is 9-for-16 so far on his four-game rehab.
Asheville’s Tyler Matzek allowed four runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out nine in seven innings. It was the fourth straight start for Matzek in which he has pitched at least six innings and the third start in his past four that he pitched seven.
Tri-City starting pitcher Christian Bergman allowed four hits, walked no one and struck out six in seven shutout innings Tuesday. Bergman has not allowed a run in his past four starts. In 30 innings during that span, he has allowed just 16 hits and two walks and has struck out 24.
Colorado Rockies outfielder started both ends of a double header at Colorado Springs while right-handed pitcher Alex White made one-inning rehab appearance at Tulsa, his first appearance since joining the Rockies organization.
