First baseman Josh Phelps, outfielders Alex Escobar and Bronson Sardinha and right-hander Chris Gissell, who have agreed to minor league contracts, will have the chance to make the Triple-A Colorado Springs roster in spring training.
The Colorado Rockies added Jhoulys Chacin, Matt Belisle, Matt Murton and Mike McCoy to their roster. Adam Eaton was designated for assignment and Chris Nelson placed on the 60-day disabled list to make room for Belisle and McCoy on the 40-man roster.
The Colorado Rockies, wanting to add a fresh arm to their bullpen after back-to-back extra-inning games, have activated Juan Rincon from the disabled list.
With Dexter Fowler sidelined and Carlos Goznalez limited, Rockies bring up Eric Young Jr. and Matt Murton from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Ian Stewart, who hit the Rockies’ first three-run home run of the season Wednesday against the Astros, added another in the seventh inning Friday night.
Grilli designated for assignment, Murton sent to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
The Rockies hit four home runs in a game for the second time this season. The previous four home-run game came May 12, also against the Houston Astros.
