Taylor Buchholz threw his first bullpen session of the spring, something manager Jim Tracy, as recently as a few weeks ago, didn’t think would happen this early in camp for the reliever.

The Colorado Rockies enter 2010 with a bullpen that, like the team’s starting rotation, could be the most stable in franchise history. The late-innings trio returns intact while the rest of the bullpen will be comprised of 2009 holdovers, veterans returning from injuries and a pack of young arms trying to find a way to stick in the major leagues.

The Rockies announced Tuesday they had agreed to contracts with two more arbitration-eligible players, signing outfielder Ryan Spilborghs to a two-year contract and pitcher Jason Hammel to a one-year deal.

The Colorado Rockies announced Thursday they had agreed to one-year contracts with a three arbitration-eligible players: starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa, infielder Clint Barmes and relief pitcher Taylor Buchholz.

Rockies can monitor the progress and rehabilitation of injured players, most of them minor leaguers.
