Asheville’s Tyler Matzek allowed three unearned runs en route to his third straight win. Matzek allowed two hits, walked four and struck out in seven innings, the fourth consecutive start he’s pitched seven innings.
Ryan Spilborghs had another big night on his rehab assignment at Colorado Springs, going 3-for-4 in a 23-11 Sky Sox loss. Spilborghs is 9-for-16 so far on his four-game rehab.

Ryan Spilborghs started his rehab with Triple-A Colorado Springs, going 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Jordan Pacheco made his second start at third base this week.
Drew Pomeranz officially joined the Colorado Rockies organization to complete the Ubaldo Jimenez trade with Cleveland and quickly made an impact at Double-A Tulsa. Pomeranz carried a perfect game one out into the seventh inning of a 6-0 Drillers win.
Starting pitcher Alex White allowed two hits, walked no one and struck out three in four shutout innings of a 2-1 Tulsa loss. In his past two rehab starts with Tulsa, White has allowed just four hits with no walks in 7 2/3 innings.

While the Colorado Rockies’ top position player prospects were playing in the Futures Game, one of their best pitching prospects, Tulsa’s Christian Friedrich, put together one of his best starts of the season, allowing just one run on six hits, walking no one and striking out five in eight innings of a 3-2 loss.
Greg Reynolds allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out seven in seven shutout innings for Colorado Springs. The Sky Sox’s 2-1 win was Reynolds’ first start back at Triple-A after making a spot start Saturday for the Rockies.

High Class-A Modesto unloaded for 17 runs Friday with seven- and six-run innings and led by Kent Matthes and Josh Rutledge, who had four RBI each.
While Parker Frazier was pitching was one of the better games of his minor-league career at Modesto, allowing one run in seven innings, his former teammate Tyler Matzek continued to battle command at Asheville, giving up eight runs in 1 1/3 innings.
Starting pitcher Greg Reynolds allowed two runs on 10 hits but didn’t walk a batter in six innings, his second start since returning to Colorado Springs and a 7-3 win for the Sky Sox.
Willy Taveras was 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI in a 12-6 loss for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Taveras has shown uncharacteristic power in June, hitting in all 12 games he’s played in the month with five doubles, four home runs and nine RBI.
Esmil Rogers allowed four runs in 3 2/3 innings in his second rehab start for the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Meanwhile, center fielder Dexter Fowler was 0-for-4 in his first rehab game.
