While the Colorado Rockies’ top position player prospects were playing in the Futures Game, one of their best pitching prospects, Tulsa’s Christian Friedrich, put together one of his best starts of the season, allowing just one run on six hits, walking no one and striking out five in eight innings of a 3-2 loss.
Greg Reynolds allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out seven in seven shutout innings for Colorado Springs. The Sky Sox’s 2-1 win was Reynolds’ first start back at Triple-A after making a spot start Saturday for the Rockies.

Willy Taveras was 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI in a 12-6 loss for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Taveras has shown uncharacteristic power in June, hitting in all 12 games he’s played in the month with five doubles, four home runs and nine RBI.
Esmil Rogers allowed four runs in 3 2/3 innings in his second rehab start for the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Meanwhile, center fielder Dexter Fowler was 0-for-4 in his first rehab game.
